The NUCCA Upper Cervical Spinal Analysis
The first step to correcting the determined body imbalance is a precise X-ray analysis. These X-rays allow a detailed analysis to be performed in order to determine exactly what correction needs to be applied. The correction needs to be customized for each patient, since the misalignment of the Atlas vertebra varies from person to person. Even though the actual correction is somewhat subtle, there are over 10,000 potential correction vectors which might apply to a patient. The correction vector must be tuned for the patient's particular neuro-spinal distortion.
Generally, three X-rays are taken from different angles. Patient position and distance to the lens must be precise. On a light board, lines are drawn on the X-rays through a series of bone points. The precise relative angles of the Atlas, the head, and the spine are measured in three planes. Once the exact misalignment of the atlas is determined, a vector direction in three dimensions is determined, precisely opposing the misalignment. Thus the analysis yields the precise force which needs to be applied to the Atlas to make a proper correction.
